You can’t control what others say and do. You can’t make them see things the way you do. And you don’t have the power to make everyone happy. Most days you know all that, but when you forget, it can really mess with you.
When that happens, put your disappointments and frustrations aside. I know that seems easier said than done, but you absolutely have the strength in Jesus to release them from your heart and mind. Focus instead on the love, joy, and peace he’s given you, gifts no one can take away.
When you’re mindful of them, that love, joy, and peace are always more powerful than anyone else’s fear, bitterness, and chaos. And when you’re intentional with them, life transforms from needing others to act as you think they should, to loving finding ways to bless others without expectation.
“His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7b).
