God isn’t nervous. About anything. He’s not stressed out about what’s going on in your life, and nothing you’ve done, or haven’t done, has lessened his love for you, or his commitment to growing you into all he sees you can become. He’s not even anxious about the state of the world, though he is passionate about empowering, equipping, and encouraging you to love, bless, and influence it.
I know it’s not always easy, but if there are areas of your life that are constant sources of worry, then in your heart, lay them down before him. Expose them to his grace, peace, joy, and love. If you need to, do it every day, over and over, until they lose their power.
Let God show you how he sees each relationship and situation in your life. Let him teach you who he wants to be for you in all of them, and who he sees you becoming through it all.
Trust him. No matter what anyone else has done to your heart, trust he loves you—perfectly, completely, and ceaselessly loves you. Even when he asks you for your old mindset, it’s never to leave you empty and defenseless, it’s because his love brings you fully to life, and gives you a far greater vision than you’ve ever had before.
“I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me” (Psalm 13:5).
