Yes, faith sometimes is truly a leap. You’ve leaped into the unknown darkness many times. That doesn’t make this time any easier, and in some ways, you’re more tired than ever as you stare into darkness in front of you. But each time it’s happened before, you’ve known. Deep in your heart, you know it now.
Your Father will catch you on the other side.
And every time he does, there’s light to look back and see how high and far you’re able to jump. In fact, this time feels less like a leap . . . and more like flying.
“You will light my lamp. The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. In your strength, I can run against any adversary, and leap over any wall” (Psalms 18:28-29).
“But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles. They run and don’t get tired. They walk and don’t lag behind” (Isaiah 40:31).
